On September 17, 2026, more than 20 community partners came together for the Delta Welcoming Week Fair, showcasing their programs, resources, and services while welcoming community members from across Delta.
This year, we gathered at Social Heart Plaza and the North Delta Centre for the Arts to celebrate the diversity, connections, and people that make our community so welcoming.
We officially opened the ceremony with a Welcome and Song from Tsawwassen First Nation, followed by opening remarks from Mayor George Harvie and Karmanpreet Kaur and Kaylee Ng of the Delta Youth Newcomer Advisory Table. Attendees also had the opportunity to learn from Fraser Health through a presentation on cultural safety and enjoy wonderful performances by Folkstar Arts Academy, Hua Xia Multicultural Society, and Anahaw Fil-Can.
The Delta Welcoming Week Fair created a space for newcomers, long-term residents, and community members of all backgrounds to connect with one another, celebrate our diversity, and learn about the many services and resources available in Delta.
