On February 19, 2026, the Delta LIP hosted a community gathering to explore Delta’s evolving immigration landscape and identify opportunities to better support newcomers.
With the theme of “One Delta: Many Voices, Shared Future,” the event opened with a welcome, song and territorial acknowledgement from Tsawwassen First Nation members Angeline Splockton, Frank Campbell and Executive Councillor Valerie Cross.
Delta Mayor George Harvie provided opening remarks, joined by city Councillors Alicia Guichon, Daniel Boisvert, Jennifer Johal and Rod Binder.
Attendees reviewed data on Delta’s immigrant landscape, heard from local leaders on their initiatives in supporting newcomers and discussed emerging gaps to inform Delta LIP’s upcoming Community Plan.
Thank you to all the community members, long-time residents and newcomers who generously contributed their voices and knowledge.
Together, we are building a more welcoming and inclusive Delta.
